HOW TO GET RELEVANT JOB?

HOW TO GET RELEVANT JOB?

In this article, I am going to talk about how to get a relevant job. For that, it is necessary to understand what a relevant job means. The word relevant means connected with what's happening or being discussed. A relevant job is connected with the relevant work experience. Relevant experience is a variable component, it varies from recruiter to recruiter, whether he/she is looking at post studies experience or total experience.

There's no denying it – searching for a job really is a fun-time job in itself and, alas, it doesn't get much easier as you get older. Applying for jobs is about really selling your skills and expertise to potential employers after all why they should pick you over other applicants?

Here, we will look at some best ways to find a relevant job online and offline that matches your profile. So, let's get started!

1. TRY ONLINE NETWORKING

Curate your professional profile and be active onto career networking sites such as LinkedIn and start building your social network to keep in the loop for the latest job offers.

Follow companies, like and keep commenting on their post is also a great way to get noticed. Please remember to keep your comment professionals.

2. BUILD YOUR RESUME

Choose the right resume format, Add your contact information and personal details, Start with a heading statement (Resume summary or resume objective), List your relevant work experience & key achievements, Mention your education correctly, Put relevant skills that fit the job and include additional important resume sections, Proofread & email your resume the right way.

3. FIND A JOB USING ONLINE JOB PORTALS

A job portal is a website that bridges a gap between employers and job seekers. Companies can advertise their vacancies and search through applications and CVs of potential employees. Candidates can create a profile for themselves with all the necessary information, and search and apply to jobs posted on the site.

There are various job portals available in India such as Naukri, TimesJob, Placement India, Monster, Shine, Indeed, Quikr and many more.

4. RESEARCH ABOUT COMPANY

An applicant must search about the company background, it's culture, mission and values. He/she should have knowledge about company products and services.

Most importantly, an interviewee should know about the person who would be interviewing. This will give you an advantage during the interview because you’ll have a better chance of connecting with them and sparking a meaningful conversation.

5. TELL ABOUT PROJECTS YOU HAVE DONE

The reason employer asks you this question is to see how well you can manage a project or a situation, what your approach to dealing with challenges is, and how your skills would help you to successfully lead a project. They also want to know what your work ethic is like, and gain insight into how you handle stress. So how you are going to answer this question?

Prepare the answer in advance note down a project you have done recently, mention your responsibilities and be specific with your goals. Also, speak out about SWOT analysis of your project and convey what mistakes you should avoid while dealing with any project.

6. PLACEMENT AGENCIES IN INDIA

Placement agencies play a vital role in bridging a gap between employer and job seeker. There are an infinite number of placement agencies and staffing firms available. Their main role is to fulfil their client's staffing requirements and provide other available services. Any job seeker can contact placement agencies in their respective location and get a job. Here are a few names of firms working as placement agencies:

  • Quarec Resources Private Limited
  • Merger HR Consulting
  • Talish Solutions
  • Place1 India HR Solutions
  • Prime Placement & Manpower Services
  • IKYA Human Capital Solutions
  • Nextgen Placement

Any job seeker can visit the websites of agencies and connect with them.

7. CHECK COMPANY CAREER PAGE

Candidates might use desktops or mobile phones to hit the job links. When a candidate visits the company career pages they get the useful information about the currently available vacancies matching their profiles, skills and expertise. These gives a clear cut information to the job seeker whether he/she is eligible to apply or not or whether all the other criteria such as salary, location, timings and other technical skills match their profiles or not.

8. CHECK WITH YOUR REFERENCE

Check with your social circle about your job hunting. Let people know you are looking for a job. Talk people as much as you can but kindly mention professionalism while speaking out with them as this may either hamper your reputation or make you tp meet out with some good opportunities.

Also check them with company strategies, policies, requirements, background, culture and the required information. This will help you in boosting your confidence at the time of interview.

9. POINT OUT YOUR INTRODUCTION & SHOWCASE YOUR SKILLS

This is a question pointing out basically how to sell yourself in a job interview. Any jobseeker must learn how to confidently talk about yourself specifically your skills, knowledge, and career achievements with a little effort. Physically project your confidence. In other words, your nonverbal communication mainly your eye contact, hand motions, posture, and tone of voice are critical when selling yourself to a hiring manager.

Also, always qualify your achievements not just by saying that you are good team player instead back up your claims with relevant stories that show how you’ve applied your skills in the past and don't forget to speak about the result of your actions.

Ask good questions that offer value. This will showcase how good researcher you are it will distinguish you from other applicants and gives the company one of the reason to select you over other applicants.

I HOPE THIS ARTICLE WILL HELP THE JOB SEEKERS TO GET A BETTER WAY IN SEARCHING A RELEVANT JOB OPPORTUNITY.
